Bernie Schwartz of the Bronx, now Tony Curtis, the Hollywood heart throb, was in New York promoting his first thriller, Manitou. He was staying at the townhouse of a close friend on Sixty-Second Street on Jan. 30, 1978. He looked out the window and said, “My father’s tailor shop used to be down the block.” He remembered when he used to shlep suits on the street.
