The Daily News hailed the Rolling Stones performance as “a classic rock moment.” The show “holds a towering place in the history of both music and New York culture. The concert presented the Stones at the pinnacle of their beauty and threat.” That night the group wrapped a world tour that brought them to 21 countries in 10 months. It yielded one of the greatest albums of all time: Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out, the classic album of 1970.
