The Bronx-born Harlem-raised actress/singer and the British-born TV talk show host were an item for several years but never tied the knot. She also had a nine-year relationship with Sidney Poitier. She married and divorced four times, last time with singer Vic Damone (1987-96). Carroll and Frost were together on Feb. 19, 1971, at the Americana Hotel in Midtown New York where the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences honored Frost at a tribute dinner.
