Andy Warhol, Ultra Violet
Ultra Violet, one of Warhol’s stable of underground superstars, accompanies him on September 5, 1968, as he stepped out for the first time since his attempted assassination. Warhol, 36, was shot by 22-year-old Valerie Solanas at The Factory, his Union Square studio, on June 3. Solanas was distraught that Warhol had been ignoring her pleas that he film a play she had written. She once appeared in a Warhol film, I, A Man.
