When he wasn’t filming or answering my questions, he was playing the horses. This was on Sept. 5, 1976, at the famous quarter horse racing track in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. He was there filming Casey’s Shadow, co-starring Alexis Smith, and I was invited to visit the set.
