Ian Schrager (left) and Stephen Rubell opened the doors on April 26, 1977, of what was to become the most famous, fabulous disco club on the planet. I dropped in on May 10 to find the co-owners making further enhancements to their Studio 54, located at 254 West 54th Street in Midtown Manhattan. This revolution in nightclub entertainment lasted four years. We have yet to see the likes of it again.
